How to set up email in cPanel

A professional email address on your own domain — like you@yourbusiness.com — builds instant trust and is included free with your cPanel hosting. Setting one up takes about two minutes. Here's how to create your email account, read your mail, and connect it to Outlook or your phone.

How to create an email account in cPanel

Step 1 — Open Email Accounts

Log in to cPanel and, in the Email section, click Email Accounts.

Step 2 — Create the account

Click Create. Choose your domain, type the username (the part before the @), and set a strong password. Your address will be username@yourdomain.com.

Step 3 — Set a mailbox quota

Choose how much storage this mailbox can use — a few gigabytes is plenty for most people, or set it to unlimited. Click Create and your mailbox is ready.

How to access your email

You have two easy options:

• Webmail — the quickest way. From cPanel, click Email Accounts → Check Email, or visit yourdomain.com/webmail and log in. Roundcube gives you a clean inbox in your browser.
• Your usual app — connect Outlook, Apple Mail, Gmail or your phone using the settings below so your mail arrives everywhere.

In Email Accounts, click Connect Devices to see the exact settings. They'll look like this:

• Forwarders — send a copy of mail to another address automatically.
• Autoresponders — set up an out-of-office or welcome reply.
• Spam filter — Apache SpamAssassin is built in to keep junk out of your inbox.
• Aliases — create sales@ or support@ addresses that land in one mailbox.

Tip: protect your deliverability

To make sure your emails reach inboxes and don't get marked as spam, add the SPF and DKIM records for your domain (cPanel's Email Deliverability tool sets these up in a click). This proves your mail is genuinely from you.
